In a significant boost to India’s aerospace manufacturing sector, Bharat Forge Ltd. (BFL) has announced plans to set up an advanced aerospace ring mill, with operations expected to commence by 2026. The facility is all set to support a wide range of aero-engine applications, catering to both domestic and global aerospace programmes.

This development follows Bharat Forge’s deepening engagement with Pratt & Whitney Canada, marking a strategic milestone in the company’s aerospace journey. The ring mill will be equipped with cutting-edge technology to manufacture high-performance components that meet international standards for quality, reliability, and traceability.

Speaking on the development, Amit Kalyani, Vice-Chairman and Joint Managing Director, Bharat Forge Ltd., noted,

“This new ring mill demonstrates our unwavering commitment to building advanced capabilities for the aerospace sector. Strengthening our long-standing relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada, we are proud to contribute to the global aerospace ecosystem and further position India as a key player in precision manufacturing.”

From the partner’s side, Frederic Lefebvre, Vice President, Supply Chain at Pratt & Whitney Canada, highlighted the long-standing ties with India:

“Pratt & Whitney has had a presence in India for over 70 years. With more than 800 employees currently supporting the development of next-gen engines, this collaboration further elevates India’s role in our global supply chain.”

The facility aligns with India’s broader vision to become a global aerospace hub, with the new ring mill expected to significantly enhance the country’s capabilities in aero-engine component production. Beyond technological innovation, the initiative also signals continued foreign partnerships and investments in India’s advanced manufacturing landscape.

As Bharat Forge continues to invest in infrastructure and innovation, the aerospace ring mill stands as a testament to India’s growing prowess in high-value, precision engineering on the world stage
