RRP Electronics has entered into a strategic partnership with US-based Deca Technologies, Inc. to enhance its wafer-level semiconductor packaging capabilities. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem, leveraging Deca’s industry-leading technologies.
Under this partnership, RRP Electronics will integrate Deca’s Wafer-Level Chip Scale Packaging and M-Series Fan-Out Wafer-Level Packaging technologies into its operations. These advancements will significantly enhance RRP Electronics’ ability to deliver high-performance semiconductor solutions to customers worldwide.
RRP Electronics, backed by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, specializes in assembling and testing semiconductor components. Meanwhile, Deca Technologies is recognized as a global leader in advanced semiconductor packaging, with strong support from industry giants such as Qualcomm, Infineon, and ASE Group. The alliance is expected to serve as a gateway to India’s rapidly expanding electronics and semiconductor sector.
Rajendra K Chodankar, Chairman & CEO of RRP Electronics, announced that the company is investing in a large-scale Technology Transfer License Agreement with Deca, potentially under exclusive terms. This agreement aims to establish a fully automated and modern semiconductor packaging infrastructure in India.
“We aim to complete our qualification tests by August and foresee revenue exceeding $30 million (approximately ₹260 crore) in the second year of operations,” Chodankar stated.
Tim Olson, Founder & CEO of Deca Technologies, emphasized that the partnership will accelerate RRP Electronics’ ambitious growth trajectory and strengthen India’s role in the global semiconductor value chain.
Recently, the Maharashtra government approved RRP Electronics’ plan to invest ₹24,000 crore in two phases to establish a state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing and assembly facility. In phase 1, RRP Electronics is spearheading a ₹12,035 crore investment in an Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) initiative.
In September 2024, RRP Electronics inaugurated a cutting-edge manufacturing facility equipped with next-generation semiconductor technology. This initiative is set to generate approximately 4,000 jobs, significantly boosting the local economy and positioning Maharashtra as a major semiconductor hub.
As India rapidly advances its semiconductor ambitions, the collaboration between RRP Electronics and Deca Technologies is poised to redefine the sector. The companies are committed to delivering innovative packaging solutions, creating employment opportunities, and establishing India as a leader in semiconductor technology.
