RENK Group AG, a global leader in advanced drive and propulsion solutions for military and industrial applications, has officially inaugurated its new trailblazing production facility in Shoolagiri, India. This strategic investment underscores RENK’s deepening commitment to the Indian market and aligns with the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative, aimed at fostering indigenous manufacturing and technological advancement.

The new facility positions RENK to better serve the growing demands of India’s defence and industrial sectors, while also enhancing its global production network. By manufacturing locally, RENK aims to deliver advanced gear units, power transmission systems, and specialised couplings with faster response times, cost efficiencies, and full compliance with localisation requirements.

The Shoolagiri plant will cater to both domestic and global markets through a dual-focus approach:

• Local-for-Local: Delivering gear units for cement mills, gearboxes for power and new energy sectors, and high-performance couplings for Indian industries.
  
• Local-for-Global: Manufacturing couplings and other components in India for deployment across RENK’s worldwide customer base.
  

RENK has long been a trusted partner of the Indian Armed Forces, contributing to major programs such as the Arjun main battle tank and the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier. With its new facility, RENK is poised to play a key role in upcoming defence initiatives, including the Light Tank program and future naval projects.
