Optimized Electrotech Secures $6 Million Series A Funding to Advance AI-Powered Surveillance Tech

Ahmedabad, India — Deep-tech startup Optimized Electrotech has secured $6 million in Series A funding, representing a significant milestone in its journey to revolutionize surveillance and imaging technologies using advanced AI and electro-optic solutions. The round was co-led by Blume Ventures and Mela Ventures, with additional participation from 9Unicorns, Rajiv Dadlani Group, Venture Catalysts, and members of the company’s leadership team.

Founded in 2017 by Sandeep Shah and Dharin Shah, Optimized Electrotech develops advanced electro-optic imaging systems for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions spanning defence, aerospace, and space sectors. The company’s solutions incorporate real-time data processing and onboard analytics, providing critical visual intelligence in high-risk and strategic environments.

The startup’s product suite is designed to counter challenges like unauthorized drone threats, perimeter intrusions, and situational awareness gaps, catering to a wide range of users including defence forces, paramilitary units, and government agencies. The company has already secured four patents and is recognized under the Ministry of Defence’s iDex initiative, underlining its alignment with India’s goal of achieving self-reliance in defence technology.

With the newly acquired funding, Optimized Electrotech plans to scale development of next-generation imaging payloads, including autonomous ISR systems and high-speed space imaging platforms. These efforts are rooted in the company’s vision to harness AI, edge analytics, and advanced electro-optics to redefine the future of surveillance.

Investors have praised the company’s IP-led strategy, technical leadership, and commitment to indigenous innovation. “Optimized Electrotech’s approach to developing cutting-edge, locally-built technologies positions it as a vital player in both Indian and global defence ecosystems,” said a representative from Blume Ventures.

Competing with established names such as Tonbo Imaging and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd., Optimized Electrotech aims to carve out a niche in both domestic and international markets, while boosting India’s defence manufacturing capabilities.

Backed by a leadership team with credentials from IIM Calcutta, IISc Bengaluru, ISI Kolkata, and IIT Delhi, the company is well-positioned to push the boundaries of AI-driven surveillance and imaging technologies.
