Hero MotoCorp Announces ₹3,200 Crore Investment in Andhra Pradesh, Breaks Ground for Global Parts Centre in Tirupati

Hero MotoCorp has announced a cumulative investment of more than ₹3,200 crore in Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant step in expanding its manufacturing, logistics, and electric mobility capabilities. As part of the investment roadmap, the company laid the foundation stone for its second Global Parts Centre (GPC) in Tirupati, with an investment exceeding ₹750 crore.

The upcoming Global Parts Centre will serve as a strategic hub for Hero MotoCorp’s domestic and international spare parts operations, strengthening the company’s global supply chain while supporting its expanding presence in international markets. The investment is also expected to transform Tirupati into a key manufacturing and electric mobility hub.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony, N. Chandrababu Naidu said Hero MotoCorp’s continued investment reflects confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s business-friendly policies, infrastructure, and industrial ecosystem. He noted that the project would create employment opportunities, strengthen local supply chains, and contribute to the economic growth of the Rayalaseema region while further establishing Tirupati as a leading manufacturing and logistics destination.

Pawan Munjal described the project as a significant milestone in the company’s nation-building journey, highlighting its commitment to supporting India’s manufacturing ambitions. He said the new Global Parts Centre would enhance Hero MotoCorp’s global supply chain capabilities while reinforcing the vision of “Made in India, for India and the World.”

Munjal also dedicated the project to the legacy of the company’s Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Brijmohan Lall Munjal, noting that the foundation stone was laid on his 103rd birth anniversary.

The Tirupati manufacturing facility already serves as the production base for Hero MotoCorp’s entire electric vehicle portfolio under the VIDA brand. Following the latest investment, the plant’s annual production capacity is expected to increase to between 1.2 million and 1.5 million units, further strengthening its position as one of India’s major manufacturing hubs for future mobility.

The expansion is expected to generate around 4,000 employment opportunities, supporting both the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s SwarnAndhra development agenda.

Alongside the industrial expansion, Hero MotoCorp announced two community-focused initiatives in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government. The company launched the Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal Heroes of Tomorrow Scholarship, which will provide full tuition support to meritorious engineering students studying at state IIITs across 28 districts. In addition, Hero MotoCorp will deploy VIDA electric scooters and conduct specialised road safety training for women police personnel in the Tirupati district to promote sustainable mobility and community safety.

With this investment, Hero MotoCorp aims to strengthen its manufacturing footprint, expand its global logistics capabilities, and contribute to the development of Andhra Pradesh as a major automotive and electric mobility hub.
