Apollo Tyres Revamps Senior Management Rajeev Kumar Sinha Takes Over as Chief Manufacturing Officer

Apollo Tyres has announced the appointment of Rajeev Kumar Sinha as its new Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO). The board of directors approved the appointment through a circular resolution following a recommendation from the nomination and remuneration committee.

Senior Management Restructuring

In a regulatory filing with the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Ltd, Apollo Tyres stated that plant unit heads in India will no longer be classified as senior management under SEBI standards due to this senior management restructuring. However, while these unit heads will no longer fall under the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulation 16(1)(d), they will continue in their respective roles and report directly to the newly appointed CMO.

Extensive Industry Experience

Rajeev Kumar Sinha brings over 35 years of industry experience to his new role. His professional journey includes senior leadership roles at PepsiCo, where he served as Executive Vice President, and at Glenmark, where he held global leadership positions overseeing operations, productivity, and sustainability initiatives. Sinha is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur, where he earned his degree in mechanical engineering.

Changes in Reporting Structure

Following this restructuring, several key plant heads will now report directly to Sinha. This includes:

  • Piush Bansal (Limda Plant)
  • C. Thomas Mathew (Chennai Plant)
  • George Oommen (Kerala Plant)
  • Anand Sathyamoorthy (Andhra Pradesh Plant)

Despite these changes, the respective plant heads will retain full responsibility for their individual operations while aligning with the company’s evolving management structure.

This strategic appointment is expected to strengthen Apollo Tyres’ manufacturing capabilities and streamline operations as the company continues to expand its footprint in the global tyre industry.Source; Manufacturing Today
