ZF Launches India’s Largest Fleet Tech Hub in Bengaluru, Accelerating Smart Mobility Solutions

BENGALURU, INDIA — In a significant boost to India’s mobility technology ecosystem, global technology company ZF Group has launched its largest fleet technology hub in Bengaluru. The innovative facility underscores a major milestone in the company’s strategy to build smart, scalable solutions for commercial fleet operators globally.

Spanning 33,300 square feet, the new digital campus will be the epicentre for the development of SCALAR, ZF’s next-generation Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) fleet management platform. SCALAR is already transforming the logistics landscape by enabling real-time tracking, intelligent scheduling, predictive maintenance, and driver behaviour analysis through the power of AI and cloud computing.

“This hub not only signifies our expanding engineering footprint, but it also symbolises the acceleration of our innovation and agility,” said P. Kaniappan, Senior Vice President, ZF Group India. “We are building solutions that empower fleet operators with greater control, visibility, and operational efficiency.”

A Fully Integrated Innovation Engine

Unlike traditional development centres, ZF’s Bengaluru tech hub integrates product management, UI/UX design, and backend engineering under one roof. This end-to-end ownership allows teams to rapidly design, test, and deploy smart mobility solutions tailored for both domestic and international markets.

“At ZF, we are committed to transforming commercial mobility,” said Hjalmar Van Raemdonck, Vice President of SCALAR. “With over 150,000 vehicles already connected in India, SCALAR is redefining how fleets operate—using real-time insights to drive smarter decisions, reduce downtime, and boost overall productivity.”

Fuelling Future Mobility

The hub will initially employ around 250 engineers and specialists, working on global projects that enhance ZF’s digital capabilities in fleet management. As the platform continues to scale, this centre is expected to become a cornerstone for ZF’s global mobility innovation efforts.

The launch comes amid ZF’s broader push into digital and electrified mobility solutions. Just last month, the company revealed plans to introduce a new range extender technology for electric vehicles by 2026, further underscoring its commitment to sustainable transport.

With this new facility, ZF reinforces its position as a global leader in connected mobility technologies, offering fleet operators across India and beyond the tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving transportation landscape.
