RRP Electronics Leads Rs 36,000 Cr Semiconductor Drive, Ties Up with Deca, AMB & HMT Zurich

In a significant move to strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem, RRP Electronics has announced a massive INR 36,000 crore investment plan to establish a state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication unit and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility in Maharashtra. The company is collaborating with leading global technology firms to drive innovation and accelerate India’s entry into advanced semiconductor manufacturing and packaging.

The investment includes INR 24,000 crore for the semiconductor fabrication unit and INR 12,035 crore for the OSAT facility, marking one of the most ambitious semiconductor projects in the country. The initiative is backed by international technology partners, including Deca Technologies (USA), AMB (Taiwan), and HMT Zurich (Switzerland).

Strategic Global Collaborations

RRP Electronics’ collaboration with Deca Technologies—a U.S.-based leader in advanced packaging—includes a Technology Transfer Licence Agreement (TTLA). This agreement is set to fast-track India’s capabilities in cutting-edge semiconductor packaging, an area traditionally dominated by a few global players. Deca’s technology ecosystem is backed by giants like Qualcomm, Infineon, and ASE Group, giving RRP Electronics a strong foundation to scale rapidly.

The Government of Maharashtra is supporting the project, recognizing its potential to transform the state into a semiconductor hub, attract global investments, and generate high-tech employment opportunities.

Rapid Growth and Future Outlook

RRP Electronics is not only planning for the future but is already making strides in the present. The company is currently producing advanced ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits) in QFN (Quad Flat No-Lead) packages for a Swiss customer. These projects are undergoing qualification tests, expected to be completed by August 2025, positioning RRP as a serious contender in the global semiconductor supply chain.

With projections to surpass ₹260 crore in revenue by its second year of operations, RRP Electronics is eyeing rapid growth and market leadership in India’s evolving semiconductor manufacturing landscape.

This significant initiative underscores India’s commitment to becoming a self-reliant tech powerhouse, and RRP Electronics is poised to play a central role in this transformation.
