Leadership transition marks a new phase for the engineering-grade special steel producer, with Amit Kalyani succeeding Babasaheb Kalyani, who has chaired the company since its incorporation.

Kalyani Steels has appointed Amit Kalyani as Chairman of its Board, marking a planned leadership transition from Babasaheb Kalyani, who has led the company as Chairman since its incorporation. The appointment was announced on October 28, 2026.

Amit Kalyani, currently Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, brings more than 25 years of association with the Kalyani Group. During his tenure, he has played a key role in expanding the Group’s presence across aerospace, defence, electric mobility and advanced materials.

His appointment follows years of collaboration with R.K. Goyal, Managing Director of Kalyani Steels, in developing and executing the company’s growth strategy. Under the company’s leadership, Kalyani Steels has evolved from a captive supplier to Bharat Forge into an established producer of engineering-grade special steels, catering to automotive, industrial and strategic sectors in India and international markets.

The company’s growth reflects this transformation. Its income has increased from ₹19 crore in 1984 to ₹1,902 crore in FY2026, highlighting its expansion in the special steel segment and its growing presence across diverse industrial applications.

The leadership transition is expected to build on the company’s established manufacturing capabilities and market position while supporting its next phase of growth across domestic and global markets.
