The VAJRA 150 CNC Gear Hobbing Machine from Nimble Machines is designed for high-speed machining of small to medium-sized external toothed components. The machine uses CNC-controlled movements, electronic synchronisation, and Direct Drive Technology to coordinate hob and worktable rotation during the gear hobbing process.
A key feature of the VAJRA series is its 6-axis CNC architecture with an Electronic Gear Box (EGB). Unlike conventional mechanical synchronisation, the EGB electronically coordinates the hob and worktable, while the Direct Drive system eliminates conventional mechanical transmission elements. According to Nimble Machines, the VAJRA 150 can achieve hob speeds exceeding 4,000 rpm, supporting shorter machining cycles.
The machine is configured for a range of gear manufacturing applications, including:
The VAJRA platform also supports processes such as dry hobbing, chamfering and hard hobbing, depending on the machine configuration and application.
For machine stability, Nimble Machines incorporates its UCRIDE® technology, which uses composite epoxy granite filling in the machine structure to provide vibration damping. The company also offers hydraulic workholding solutions and automated loading and unloading options for production applications.
The VAJRA series is positioned for applications across automotive, agricultural machinery, general engineering, pump shafts and aerospace components. Nimble Machines also provides application engineering, installation, commissioning and after-sales support from India.
The VAJRA 150 brings together CNC control, electronic synchronization and direct-drive technology in a machine platform intended for high-speed gear hobbing and varied production requirements.
