Eaton Appoints Shawn Black as President of Global Aerospace Group

DUBLIN: Eaton has appointed aerospace and defence industry veteran Shawn Black as president of its global Aerospace business, effective August 17, 2026. In his new role, He will lead Eaton’s global Aerospace Group and report directly to Pete Denk, president and chief operating officer of Eaton’s Industrial Sector.

Shawn Black brings more than two decades of leadership experience across the aerospace and defence industries, with expertise spanning program management, strategy, business development, operations and business leadership.

Prior to joining Eaton, he served as president of Defence at GKN Aerospace, where he led a global business supporting major defence platforms and customers. He previously served as president and CEO of Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions and spent nearly 16 years at DRS Technologies, holding several senior leadership positions, including vice president and general manager of its Electro Optical and Infrared Systems business. Black began his professional career as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

“Shawn has a demonstrated track record of delivering results by strengthening operations, growing businesses and building trusted relationships with customers,” said Pete Denk. “His deep aerospace and defence experience, combined with his ability to lead global teams through growth and transformation, positions him well to lead our Aerospace Group into our next phase of growth and innovation.”

Shawn Black holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from Boston University.

Eaton’s Aerospace business supplies systems and components for commercial and military aircraft, including hydraulic, fuel, oxygen, fluid and air conveyance, electrical, motion control and engine solutions. The company also provides aftermarket services and support to aerospace customers.

The leadership appointment comes as Eaton continues to expand its presence across markets shaped by electrification, digitalisation and growing demand for advanced power management technologies.
