SECO/WARWICK Secures First CAB Furnace Order from Turkish Heat Exchanger Manufacturer

Turkey: SECO/WARWICK has secured its first contract with RASA ALÜMİNYUM RADYATÖR SANAYİ A.Ş., a leading Turkish manufacturer of industrial cooling systems and heat exchangers, for the supply of a Universal Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) Batch Furnace equipped with an advanced vacuum purging system.

The investment forms part of RASA’s expansion strategy for its new manufacturing facility, aimed at increasing production capacity, diversifying its plate-bar heat exchanger portfolio, and enhancing process flexibility. Although this marks the first direct collaboration between the two companies, RASA was already familiar with SECO/WARWICK’s CAB technology through installations operating at other manufacturers in Turkey.

The supplied system is designed to braze large plate-bar heat exchangers in a vertical orientation while also accommodating standard fin-tube and plate heat exchangers in both vertical and horizontal configurations. The delivery package includes a CAB batch furnace, dryer, final cooling chamber, and an external transport system.

According to SECO/WARWICK, the Universal CAB Batch Furnace was selected for its ability to support a wide range of heat exchanger geometries while ensuring high brazing quality, shorter process cycles, and future production scalability. The system incorporates convection heating and cooling for uniform temperature distribution, a modern process control system, and the capability to be upgraded from a batch operation to a semi-continuous production line.

“Today’s heat exchanger market demands technologies that combine process quality with production flexibility,” said Piotr Skarbiński, Vice President of the Aluminum Process and CAB Products Segment at SECO/WARWICK Group. “The Universal CAB Batch Furnace enables manufacturers to process multiple heat exchanger types while providing greater production freedom, shorter process times, and the potential to expand capacity in the future.”

A key feature of the installation is its vacuum purging system, integrated into the purging and atmospheric cooling chamber. The technology removes oxygen from inside the product before brazing, ensuring a cleaner protective atmosphere and reducing nitrogen consumption—particularly beneficial for large plate-bar heat exchangers with complex internal channel geometries.

“Vacuum purging stabilizes the brazing environment while significantly lowering nitrogen usage compared to conventional purging systems,” explained Maciej Stempniewicz, Deputy Director of CAB Sales, Aluminum and CAB Department at SECO/WARWICK. “This not only improves process repeatability but also delivers lower operating costs for the customer.”

RASA cited several factors behind its decision to adopt SECO/WARWICK’s solution, including its versatile furnace design, convection heating and cooling capabilities, advanced process controls, superior atmosphere quality, and the possibility of future expansion into a semi-continuous production system.

Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) is widely used in the production of aluminum heat exchangers, enabling durable, leak-tight, and repeatable joints under precisely controlled atmospheric conditions. As demand for energy-efficient cooling solutions continues to grow across transportation, industrial, energy, and heavy-duty applications, flexible and high-performance brazing technologies are becoming increasingly important.

The latest order further strengthens SECO/WARWICK’s presence in Turkey’s heat exchanger manufacturing sector and reinforces its position as a technology provider for advanced CAB solutions.
