Innovative modular technology system for mobile systems

With its modular system of solutions for mobile systems, SEW-EURODRIVE supplies innovative and tried-and-tested hardware and software modules from a single source. The modular system supports customers who want to expand their portfolio or enter the market for mobile solutions.

Hardware and software solutions for AGVs and AMRs
SEW-EURODRIVE manufactures high-quality, innovative technologies for mobile systems such as AGVs and AMRs and has many years of application expertise in this area. Suppliers and system operators of AGVs and AMRs can benefit from this in particular, as well as companies wishing to expand their portfolio of materials handling technology with mobile robots and vehicles: Our modular technology system for mobile systems is based on proven, optimally coordinated components and modules that enable parameterizable and qualified functions and automation solutions.

At LogiMAT 2024, we will present a new parallel-shaft helical gear unit series that can absorb high radial loads specifically required for travel drives. Driven by the integrated 48 V MOVIMOT® performance ELV drive unit or the SCM ( Solution Controller Multiaxis) solution, this system allows the travel axis to be positioned laterally and very compact. With the ELV (Extra Low Voltage) drive concept for mobile systems, We offer system solution-optimized travel drives with protective extra-low voltage.

All the software modules required for executable PLC programs are available for the various functions and applications of omnidirectional and bidirectional vehicle types. They include, for example, specially adapted kinematics modules for the drive train to implement high travel accuracies in a vector-controlled manner (x, y, ω kinematic model).

The safety functions, such as the automatic generation of safety and warning zones based on parameters, are supported by Windows applications. The safety controller uses software modules to calculate current travel profiles, consisting of travel speed and direction of travel, using inverse kinematics based on standard rotary encoders. This makes it possible to switch the warning and safety zones dynamically, for example in cornering, even in omnidirectional vehicles.
